Pretty Festive Table

Hello everyone!

My lovely mum gave me a 50mm lens for my birthday, and I’ve had lots of fun shooting with it.  (Shooting with one of these lenses gives you a very shallow depth of field, which is what gives that lovely out of focus background or foreground depending now here you focus – I love it!)  I put this pretty table together for one of my shots for the Laura Ashley Instagram takeover.  These colours make so happy.

I am back tomorrow with my third and final #SwiftHomeHacks Post, beautiful giftwrap for next to nothing, so do pop back!

Such lovely photos Tamsyn, and pretty baubles, how I wish I had kept my childhood baubles, they were just like yours 🙂

Thank you so much Lin, there is something so nostalgic about them isn’t there! As a child I remember the cat pulling the Christmas tree down and breaking a pretty glass bauble – I think this is why I love collecting them so much! 🙂

Gorgeous photos Tamsyn! Did you end up getting an Olympus Pen – or do you have something bigger? Trying to make the leap from iPhone to proper camera myself, and i’m being swayed from one thing to the next. I hate the thought of investing in something too big, cumbersome and hard to use that it ends up gathering dust! xxx

Thank you so much Paula! No I haven’t yet parted with any cash for the Olympus Pen but I have heard brilliant things about it – I use a larger Canon which I love, but I think something like the Pen might be perfect for you, it takes beautiful pictures but is small and compact! xxx
