Car Boot Fair Thrifted Treasure

Hello everyone, I hope you are having a lovely weekend!

I got up early this morning to hit the car boot fairs, as I haven’t been for a few weeks.  I came back with some gorgeous thrifted treasures, so I thought I’d share them with you today.

From the top we have :

Picture One

Marble chopping board.  I have a few of these now, not only because they look gorgeous in my kitchen and they’re practical, but I also use them in flatlay photography and for food styling.  This one was a couple of pounds.  Keep your eye out for them as there are plenty around at car boot fairs and in charity shops.

1960’s Murano glass.  Just look at the yummy colours.  I collected glass when I was in my twenties, then got rid of it all.  Now I buy these heavy, jewel coloured bowls whenever I see them.  Perfect for putting near a window so the light illuminates them.

Gorgeous green ceramics – I bought these along with the bowls you see in picture three.  How amazing are those colours!  Again, great for flatlay photography styling and food styling.

Picture Two

Spode teapot.  Perfect for me as I drink tea by the gallon, and I’ve been waiting for a sweet little teapot for years.

Picture Three

The gorgeous green bowls that came with the ceramics in picture one.  How amazing is that colour?

Picture Four

A sweet jug for 30 pence.  It had to be done!

Picture Five

Rustic wooden tray – this tray is gorgeous, and I envisage it sitting on my coffee table with flickering tea lights and mugs of cocoa in the Autumn for a touch hygge.  I have wanted a marmalade jar for so long, so I was happy to find this one for £1.  I love these other rustic urns too, does anybody know what they were used for?  The pretty piece of carved wooden is perfect for painting and adding a decorative touch to a plain mirror or cabinet, or even above a door frame.  I pick these up for a pound or so whenever I see them them to jazz up something plain!

I am off to collect some horse manure later, which is something I have never done before!  It’s ready to dig into my garden and the allotment, as a natural fertiliser – my dahlias are all still in pots, and some of them are getting quite big now, so it’s time to plant them out.  The things I will do for those blooms!

I hope you have a gorgeous Sunday, I am working from home this week so have a few posts up my sleeve, so do pop back!

Tamsyn x

Thank you so much Becky, it’s always worth a rummage around in any kitchenalia boxes on a stall, that’s sometimes where I find some lovely things! x
