Saturday Snapshots

Dahlias

Hello everyone, Happy Weekend!

This week, I have been working on a big photography commission.  I’ve been lucky enough to have been briefed for quite a few commissions this year when I think about it, but this one is my biggest gig yet, and I’m so honoured to have been asked to do it.  Alas I cannot share what it is until the autumn as it is Top Secret, but I know you are all going to love it!  I will of course reveal this exciting project in due course as soon as I am able to.

So this week I have been in my element, working from home.  Given that I’ve been squirrelling away on that project, I thought it was high time I brought back Saturday Snapshots, where I share some of my favourite images I’ve taken over the last few weeks.  Not only because I love them, but also because it’s quite nice to share some of those hundreds (thousands!) of pictures on my camera roll!  Here goes! (Scroll down for images and descriptions).

 At the beach

My girl on our holiday a couple of weeks ago.  I love this, she looks so happy, and the sky is blue!

More blue sky and fluffy cloud pictures, just because they’re beautiful and you can never see too many!

Dahlias

My dahlia bounty from the allotment – every time I go I come back with an overflowing basket.

Dahlias

My crazy dahlia arrangement!  The vessel is a vintage Wedgwood one that I found at a car boot fair earlier this year.  Next year I need to grow more filler plants, something whimsical and pretty, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Still life of tea and flowers

I shared this on my Instagram, the other day and I love it.  Can’t beat a still life with tea and flowers.

My little succulents in the garden, love the colour of them!

Vintage finds

My vintage treasure form the car boot fair last week.  Yes, those are vintage glass baubles!  Love the old camera too, another to add to my growing collection!

We had a good clear out in Lola’s room the other week, and so I restyled this little corner for her.  The print was kindly gifted to us by Forest Mama Designs.  Isn’t it pretty?

Hydrangeas, because they’re looking so beautiful at the moment!

Vintage cotton reels

I shared this on my Instagram, and I love it.  Transfer ware and pretty cotton reels are the best.

Another reminder that you can please vote for this blog for the Amara Interior Blog Awards, Best Interior Lifestyle blog category, and you can vote here.  It only takes a second, and competition is tough with 76 blogs in my category!!  It’s hard for us tiny blogs to get noticed above the big money making ones, so it would mean the world if you voted for me and this blog.

On a final note, I’m delighted to share that a feature I collaborated on with Alice Roberton and Janice Issitt for Reclaim Magazine is now in the shops!  Botanical fabrics and beautiful glass houses anyone?

Have a gorgeous weekend everyone!  If you have time for a blog browse, you can see my pretty Denby Pottery post here, or how about my Craft Room Gallery from last year, or my Jade Green Front Door Makeover for a plash of colour?

Enjoyed your blog of beautiful flowers, blue skies, and old wooden spools with thread! I’ll definitely vote for you!
