Dahlia Bounty From The Allotment

Still life of apples and dahlias

Hello everyone!

I took these photos a few weeks ago (24th and 25th September to be precise!) and it already feels like a lifetime ago.  Just look at that sunshine!  Things have got decidedly Autumnal around here, and I’m fine with that.  It is lovely though to look back at the dahlia bounty I came home with just a few weeks ago.  The bottom two shots were taken at the allotment, and this bed, along wth my front garden, has provided me with a steady flow of blooms these last few months.

The crockery in the third picture down was found at a recent car boot fair – I just can’t get enough of old transferware and snap it up whenever I see it.  Plus it photographs so well, definitely worth looking out for as there is still plenty of it around at the moment.

Thank you so much for the gorgeous comments on my last post.  You are all so kind!  If you missed it you can check it out here – my first venture into fashion blogging.  Do let me know what you think!

Today is a ridiculously exciting day for me, because as I write this, I have three men installing the new windows in my bedroom.  They will be back tomorrow to do the living room.  I don’t really want to get in their way, but I have posted a few snaps on my Instagram stories if you fancy a peek.  I will of course share the before and after snaps with you here on the blog.  They already look amazing, although it was pretty unnerving earlier when my bedroom was windowless, and I could hear the wind howling through the house!  The next thing for me to do is to start researching shutters, which will look absolutely incredible!

I’ll be sharing the snaps this week I took from our Instameet/photowalk in Southwold a few weeks ago, so please do pop back.  We are planning do one in Norwich during blossom season next spring, do let me know if you’d be interested in joining in.

There are still a few tickets left for our Decorative Vintage Styling Workshop in Bristol in a couple of weeks, you can see all the info here.  I’ll be packing some really beautiful vintage props for us to play with and photograph, so it would be lovely to meet you there!
